Today we are featuring a special ordered 1978 Porsche 911 SC coupe in Continental Orange that was purchased at Gleaves Porsche/Audi in Medford Oregon in August of 1978.
This 911 SC was special ordered by a prominent family, but due to a fire that destroyed their business building in 1977 they did not follow through with the purchase. Luckily for the Furguson family it was still on the show room floor when they were able to purchase another Porsche and it has been owned by them ever since!
The exterior of this 911 SC shows very well and its not everyday that you see an SC in Continental Orange! It has had a respray over 20 years ago due to some fading areas. Currently there are a few rock chips on the front end and one small ding on the left quarter panel. Additionally there are a few minor scrapes on the sunroof lid from opening it while it was a little off track. Seller says that those scrapes may be able to buff out.
With only 88k original miles the Tan leather interior looks to be in pretty good shape. The original dash is said to have a few small cracks and a plastic cover has been placed over it. The front seats were re-upholstered locally with some covers ordered from Europe.
The carpets, door cards, and headliner are original and look great. The air conditioning does not work.
The seller says that the car runs and drives great. The engine does not smoke or leak any fluids at all and has been very well maintained. There is no mention of any service records to verify service history in the ad.
This special order 911 SC is very solid and ready for its new owner. The family has decided to sell because they just don’t drive it enough and would like to see it go to someone who can drive it more.
At the time of this post the ad has been live for 25 days and the current asking price is now $49,500 (was previously being offered at $57,000).
